IES4005 Series
2U Temperature-Hardened 5-slot Chassis Remote MSAN
Dual-uplink Remote MSAN Enabling Next-Generation Services for SPs, Enterprises and Building Complexes
The IES4005 Series is ZyXEL’s next-generation MDU (multi-dwelling unit) supporting active or passive fiber uplinks and up to 128 ADSL or 128 VDSL subscribers, or 256 VoIP subscribers with full IPv6 functionality that quickly enables service providers to deploy triple-play services. The ZyXEL IES4005 Series can be deployed in basements or in street cabinets to realize fiber-to-the-building or fiber-to-the-curb applications and triple-play services. Service providers can freely choose uplink types to adapt to the existing infrastructures. The ZyXEL IES4005 Series also supports bundled services for PSTN network migration to VoIP infrastructure.
GE and GPON dual uplinks for flexible deployments
The ZyXEL IES4005 Series offers various uplink modules to serve from active Gigabit Ethernet to all fiber GPON structures. It can be connected to Point-to-point Active Gigabit Ethernet or Point-to-Multiple Point GPON access networks simply by switching different line card modules, which extends the broadband infrastructure to locations where fiber has yet to reach.
Copper-pair line cards for various “Last Mile” constructions
Equipped with copper-pair (ADSL2+, VDSL2, VoIP) subscriber line cards, the ZyXEL IES4005 Series allows operators to easily construct the last miles of broadband networks based upon the available transmission media to deliver services to the subscribers.
SIP and H.248 for smooth Voice over IP migration
The IES4005 Series has SIP and H.248 enabled voice over IP line cards, with which analog voice signals coming from subscriber lines can be digitalized and transmitted to the SIP or H.248 voice core. The capability enables operators to turn traditional voice exchange into VoIP core without any impact on the subscriber side. It also makes the migration pace to the entire VoIP infrastructure controllable.
Comprehensive, future-proof advanced features
The IES4005 Series inherits ZyXEL’s field-proven QoS and Security features to provide IPTV, VoIP and high-speed Internet services with a user-friendly configuration interface. The ZyXEL IES4005 Series supports IGMP snooping to prevent unnecessary forwarding of multicast traffic to all subscribers and thus optimizes bandwidth utilization for multicast applications such as broadcast video. It also supports the multicast VLAN feature that distributes the source to all the VLANs requesting the video stream. With a built-in splitter over POTS, the ZyXEL IES4005 Series allows the operators to provide Triple Play services over the same copper wire.
AC/DC power module to facilitate field installations
The ZyXEL IES4005 Series is a temperature-hardened remote system with a modular power supply that can be powered by either AC or DC sources. The operator staff can easily power the mini MSAN and put it in service according to the power facility status of the installation site. Its compact 2U design fits standard racks in remote sites and provides deployment flexibility for service providers to adapt to the existing network infrastructures.
Integrated ANSI/ETSI (600 ohm/900 ohm) POTS splitters
The ADSL and VDSL line card of The ZyXEL IES4005 Series are both integrated with splitters supporting both 600 ohm and 900 ohm. It not only saves space for remote sites or sidewalk cabinets, but also simplifies deployments of broadband services as far as the voice service provided by the Telco. Service Providers can take advantages of the ZyXEL IES4005 Series to offer VoIP services along with broadband through the infrastructure to small areas or buildings complexes.
Hot-swappable modulation mechanism for easy maintenance
The compact chassis of ZyXEL IES4005 Series has been designed to fit standard racks. It comes with 32-port ADSL2, 32-port VDSL2, 64-port VoIP line cards and GPON/GbE uplink management cards; all line cards and management cards are swappable so replacements can be easily done without powering down and therefore services are not interrupted.
